2012 ACTA International TESOL Conference
The conference "TESOL as a Global Trade – Ethics, Equity and Ecology"will run from the 3rd to the 5th of July 2012 in Cairns. "ACTA is thrilled to host leading national and international educators and researchers in the field to this symposium." More information at the conference website here. A recent update on preparations for the conference is also available in this pdf.
WATESOL is also offering two scholarships to successful applicants. Details are on the home page.
Grammar in EAL/D Classrooms
This session looked at the challenges faced by EAL/D learners as they grapple with the demands of academic language as outlined in the new national curriculum. The guest speaker was Dr Beverly Derewianka. Beverly has kindly granted us permission make this pdf of her notes available on the WATESOL website.
